Introduction
There are a few singles by Vangelis which are worth while finding. This is one
of them. Whichever print you can find, the single contains the original track of
"The Long March" as available in the 1979 "China" album. As a bonus, the
b-side of the single has a different version of the same track, named "The
Long March (part II)".
The second version of
"The Long March" is exactly the same composition and arrangement as the
original, but with lyrics sung on top of it. The lyrics are sung by the children
of the Orleons Infant School Twickenham, who also wrote them. The sales of the
single were used to raise money for UNICEF.
